Aros Mear is a Norseman
447 from the Tashing Yard, Taiwan. The designer is Robert Perry and the
keel laid in 1984. After a long search she was found lying in Mazatlan,
Mexico, on the Pacific coast. There were several sister ships on the
market at that time but she appeared to be the most promising. After
many emails there seemed little doubt that she would be the boat of our
choice to replace our dearly loved Endurance 37, Aros More. Aquarius as her name
was then, had been in the hands of her owners for 10 years and in that
period had been lovingly cared for. The sale had not been planned by
them but due to circumstances had to be. Leaving behind them was a huge
inventory of gear, spares and accessories. But not least was the
invaluable help rendered by them in later fitting out
for the first cruise to the Baja Peninsular
across the Sea of Cortes
